Position Summary:

Welch's is looking for an Assistant Corporate Controller to be a key member of the Finance Leadership Team.

The Assistant Controller will be a change agent in driving efficiencies and helping to achieve our goal of operating as a "best in class" Finance organization. The Assistant Controller will serve as a strategic business partner, helping the organization understand how accounting guidance impacts the broader business.

What You'll Do:

Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, royalty revenue, fixed assets, lease and benefits accounting

Manage month-end closing activities, including assistance with preparation, review and analysis of financial reporting package while ensuring accuracy and completeness

Manage / prepare the Company's quarterly balance sheet and cash flow projection

Manage / prepare the Company's quarterly fringe benefit forecast. This includes the administration and assessment of cash needs associated with the Company's retirement plans

Manage year-end audit, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors relative to the provision of all key audit requests

Support year-end tax provision and annual tax return preparation by coordinating with outside tax professionals

Own Accounting initiatives required in association with the Company's ERP implementation

Assess existing practices and procedures, while driving the efforts to eliminate manual work, streamline and standardize processes, automate key activities, etc.

Develop and mentor staff by managing performance, establishing goals, providing relevant timely feedback and guidance and maintaining strong employee relationships.

Perform ad-hoc and special projects as they arise.

Who You Are:

Strategic business partner to all areas/levels of the business

Ability to understand and communicate complex accounting issues to executives with clear and concise messaging

Ability to effectively lead projects, both internally and cross functionally

Proactive with the ability to anticipate and mitigate obstacles

Ability to question the status quo and embrace a growth mindset as a means to influence and drive process improvements

Team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude; must be able to delegate and prioritize workload and deliverables in a high-paced, growth environment

Ability to motivate, mentor and develop an accounting team

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What You'll Need:

Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive general accounting experience Required

A bachelor's degree is required, a CPA is preferred

Experience with ERP upgrade / implementations is a plus

Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
