Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Communications Equipment Technician

Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.

Two (2) years of experience in the installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of complex public safety radio communications including transmitters and receivers.

Must possess a CDL/Class A or obtain a CDL/Class A prior to the completion of the one-year probationary period.

Must be able to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Preferences Experience with combustion and electric vehicle (EV) electrical systems is preferred.

Experience with Microsoft applications and Citrix Client is highly desired.

Recruitment Notes This position will reside in the Logistics Division of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for installing, servicing and repairing customized signaling devices, to include repairing existing emergency signaling devices on heavy fleet trucks such as fire trucks.

At times, the incumbent in this position may be required to respond to emergency scenes and operate assets as necessary.
