Job Title: Cyber Defense Analyst

Department: Operations - Services

Reports To: RSekure Program Manager

Location: On-site in Chantilly, VA

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

Pay Type: Salaried, Contract

Clearance Req: TS/SCI - Full-Scope Polygraph

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

RSekure is seeking a qualified Cyber Defense Analyst with mid to senior-level experience in the Chantilly, VA area to work with our customer's proactive cyber defense team. This position will be responsible for timely identification, triage, analysis, and quantification of vulnerabilities and weaknesses across all of the customer's networks and systems. An ideal candidate should possess polished skills in data analysis, fundamental understanding of types of vulnerabilities, network attacks, and current industry threats. This is a tactical role and the work may be performed independently or within a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Enable continuous situational awareness of current and emerging cyber and deliver data-driven analysis of vulnerabilities and weaknesses to the customer's systems and networks.

Assist with threat data enrichment, curation, automation, and dissemination within a threat intelligence platform.

Conduct research on Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) associated with cyber threat actors.

Generate vulnerability and weakness risk reports on identified findings, and in-depth analysis on how the identified findings can impact internal stakeholders and missions.

Provide input for successful operationalization of cyber security technologies to streamline cyber defense capabilities and increase efficiency in team operations.

Travel not required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

Understanding of computer attack methods and system exploitation techniques.

Experience with developing risk management methodologies and threat mitigation plans.

Working knowledge of network architectures and fundamentals.

Familiarity with vulnerability concepts and prevalent vulnerability types (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, DoS, etc.) as well as vulnerability and risk scoring frameworks and methodologies (CVSSv2 and CVSSv3).

Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and analysis.

Demonstrated experience in security operations, vulnerabilities and exploitation, network security, cloud security, and a comprehensive background in information security.

Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in cyber analysis, with a focus on cybersecurity.

Certifications and Licenses

CompTIA (Sec+, Net+, etc.) or other relevant cyber certifications are a bonus.

Special Requirements

TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
