Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is recruiting for a Emergency Medicine Physician for Kings County Hospital. The Hospital is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The Emergency Medicine Department is a large department with over 140,000 patient visits yearly. The provider coverage includes attendings and APPs. We support a residency program that is the largest Emergency Medicine program in the country along with 7 fellowship programs. The operations of the Emergency Medicine Department include: pediatric unit, critical care/trauma unit, fast track, observation and a very busy main ED.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief or their designee of the department, the director will manage and provide clinical leadership, oversight and evaluation of all aspects and levels of medical staff performance and clinical services. In addition, the director will deliver accredited medical services including but not limited to physician performance, productivity and clinical outcomes, metrics and quality assurance measures and standards developed departmentally and by the NYC Health+ Hospitals. The director will perform full range of administrative/operational responsibilities to ensure the efficient achievement of departmental goals.

Work with appropriate medical leadership, and provide clinical direction to direct reports to set patient care standards, establish clinical goals and objects to ensure the strategic implementation of best practices and program development in their respective disciplines.

Provide clinical administrative guidance and consultative direction to medical staff within their respective division.

Engage in strategic planning with hospital executive and clinical leadership to develop programming within their respective discipline which aligns with overall hospital strategic plan.

Develop and collect performance metrics which the facility may utilize to plan, implement or quality patient care programs.

Ensure effective transparent communication with clinical and operational leadership to ensure effective delivery of services within the division.

Ensure the regular and appropriate assessment of physician competency and intervene and remediate as appropriate.

Prepare division staff schedules

Prepare, monitor and follow up on division Performance Indicators

Qualifications

Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine

Current and unrestricted New York State license

Current DEA Registration
