Wenham Carter are partnered with a leading Tier 1 Automotive Supplier based in Michigan. Our client is going through a finance transformation and implementing a new consolidation system, they are now looking for a Director of Finance/Global Controller to join the team, working directly with the CFO.

This position is responsible for managing the global finance activities including managing the monthly close, monthly financial reporting/consolidation, accounting activities, shared services, and special studies. You will be tasked with recommending and implementing global control and process improvement projects. The position will also coordinate with external auditors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of finance activities. The global scope includes operations in the United States, Mexico, China, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Financial Reporting and Consolidation

+ Lead the implementation of a new consolidation system

+ Coordinate monthly financial reporting and consolidation process

+ Prepare monthly statements for review with senior management team

+ Manage global process to ensure consistency between affiliates

+ Establish global best practices to ensure data quality

+ Optimize global reporting activities

+ Provide financial analysis to help drive decision making

Accounting Activities

+ Manage the monthly close process on a global basis

+ Manage the global Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, & Payroll activities

+ Monitor fixed asset accounting to ensure accuracy

+ Direct the revenue accounting team

+ Establish global accounting standards

+ Ensure account reconciliations are completed timely

+ Investigate technical US GAAP issues as required

+ Audit internal controls to ensure adequacy and compliance

Financial Planning & Analysis

+ Coordinate the global review and consolidation of the annual budget and forecasts

+ Manage performance management process for all locations and corporate departments

+ Improve FP&A reporting and tools

+ Streamline all FP&A processes

Experience

+ Five years experience as a senior global finance and accounting leader

+ MBA or equivalent preferred

+ CPA or equivalent preferred
