For our site in Dayton, OH we're searching for a qualified and resourceful CMM Programmer:

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The primary functions include coordinating measuring equipment to measure dimensions of machined metal and plastic components by performing the following duties. This position is the highest level CMM Programmer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the Major Responsibilities, including the following:

Develops Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) programs. Responsible for the development of proven programs by using customer provided drawings, CAD models, CMM programs and company developed information to facilitate program launches and provide support to programs during productions.

Responsible to provide floor assistance to CMM operators in developing CMM programs for single feature inspections that do not require full-part CMM inspections. Responsible for assisting these operators with drawing interpretation and proper fixturing/setup to ensure that reliable inspections are performed, and accurate data is obtained.

Responsible for aiding machine operators on interpretation of CMM reports to drive proper machine adjustments and minimize scrap.

Attends pre and postproduction meetings to discuss pertaining CMM issues.

Provides CMM training to CMM and other machine operators in report analysis and CMM use/programming.

Reads and interprets blueprints.

Understands GD&T, ASME Y 14.5 and Solid Works.

Responsible to operate CMM when required.

Works overtime as required.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from a four-year college or university; or at least seven years’ experience with CMM operation and programming.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
