Biomedical Equipment Technician, BMET (Levels III, and IV)

Contract to Hire Opportunity

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Work Environment: Onsite 7 am to 4 pm or 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday

Compensation Ranges/Required Experience

Level III: 5+ years of experience $32-36/hour

Level IV: 7+ years of experience $36-44/hour

Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, calibrate, and modify patient care medical devices.

Guarantee precision in service and calibration documentation to comply with pertinent laws and standards.

Manage and implement a vendor-recommended preventive maintenance program.

Conduct quality assurance inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.

Participate in meetings held by the Biomedical Engineering Department (BME) and the staff of the Medical Services Division.

Optimize inventory management, utilizing second sources for replacement materials required in servicing medical devices.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Biomedical/Medical Equipment Technician.

Must have exposure to working in a hospital setting.

Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Applied Science or related field (preferred).

BMET or AAMI Certification (preferred).

High School Diploma or GED required.

Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our client’s dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, calibration, and modification of patient care medical devices. You will perform quality assurance inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations. Additionally, you will manage a vendor-recommended preventive maintenance program and maintain a cost-effective inventory of replacement materials for servicing and maintaining medical devices within our facilities. The role also involves keeping accurate service and calibration documentation in line with applicable laws and standards.
