What We’re Looking For:
In this role you will manage an existing team in subscriber product hardware development, testing, and sustainment engineering activities on our Product Engineering team. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing product testing, analysis, design, regulatory compliance, change and configuration management. In addition to these responsibilities, you'll also get the chance to coach and mentor junior engineers, helping to shape the future of our team. What You’ll Do:
Foster and develop a highly effective team of Product Engineers to test, analyze, and design cuttinig edge products
Facilitate a close working relationship with product owners and stakeholders to manage and prioritize issue resolution and product improvements while communicating risk, timing, cost, and value to the broader organization
Think laterally, provide analysis, make suggestions, and implement processes that improve product quality, reliability, and longevity
Perform test planning, procedure development, and analysis activities for all hardware aspects of Iridium transceivers
Mentor and train your team by evaluating employees’ performance, recognizing areas for improvement, and providing reliable solutions to problems that may impact your team’s effectiveness
Lead efforts to release new and existing designs into manufacturing, managing engineering changes, and design configurations
Work collaboratively with multi-sited global teams of software, hardware, and system development engineers
Work cross functionally to instill a strong culture of product quality within the organization
Support customers and team members to achieve project delivery milestones
Accountable for the development of customer facing documentation that clearly presents information for various stakeholders
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or a related technical field
10+ years’ progressive experience in an engineering role, with experience in product design
Advanced knowledge of product designs, design verification testing, design change management and configuration control
Previous management experience required
Capable of being a strong motivator and source of direction for your team and role modelling commitment to your team’s goals
Have a people-oriented mentality and be able to build meaningful relationships with senior leadership on your team and in other departments
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques
Be able to analyze and understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions, come up with and evaluate unique solutions, and see those solutions through to completion
Be independent and self-motivated and demonstrate a high degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness
Have a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion and be motivated to achieve outcomes and results
Can thrive in a dynamic environment and efficiently manage multiple or complex projects while continuously looking for new and enhanced ways of doing things
Possess effective Microsoft Windows and Office skills, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
Working knowledge of RF communication systems and protocols
Working knowledge regulatory and material compliance standards
Experience working with remote global teams
Experience using Atlassian management tools
Knowledge of laboratory test equipment (network, spectrum, and vector signal analyzers, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of best practices for design change management and configuration management,
Knowledge of life cycle management and best practices that can maximize component and product design longevity
We’ll also need you to:
Be able to travel up to 15% annually
Be able to travel internationally
Willing and able to support activities outside of standard work hours in your time zone.

Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. For in person meetings, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
