Slate of San Jose Candidates Seek Hybrid Finance Director/Consultant

Background:

A slate of campaigns in San Jose, California seek a Finance Director or Consultant to manage their fundraising operations – either a part time employee of multiple campaigns or a fundraising/finance consultant. This role will be responsible for executing on ambitious fundraising plans ahead of the election in 2024.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the candidates’ call time programs by preparing call lists, taking detailed notes, and conducting follow-up on contribution pledges.

- Work with donors and supporters to take on greater involvement by engaging their networks and hosting fundraising events.

- Plan and staff fundraising events, alongside grassroots supporters and campaign staff.

- Manage donor relationships, communications, research and database.

- Take responsibility for achieving ambitious fundraising goals, timelines and metrics.

Desired qualities and skills:

- Dynamic, mission-driven self-starter with demonstrated ability managing competing priorities and timelines.

- Prior experience in fundraising for political campaigns and/or causes is preferred.

- Detail-oriented and proactive with high standards of integrity, maturity, and discretion.

- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.

- Able to form strong relationships with supporters and donors.

- Comfortable interfacing with community leaders and “managing up” to hold candidates accountable to fundraising goals and manage the candidate during call time/events.

- Access to a laptop, phone, and car (with valid driver’s license).

- Currently located in the California Bay Area or Sacramento.

- Ability to work irregular hours and weekends.

- Must be able to commit through the 2024 election.

Compensation: Pay starts at $6,000/month and is commensurate with experience, with bonuses for meeting fundraising goals.
