Opportunity Overview:

An award-winning Employment and Business Litigation firm seeks a driven and adept associate attorney. We are in search of a mid-senior level Labor & Employment associate with a minimum of 3 years of experience defending employers against diverse employment-related claims. Candidates with expertise in other defense litigation areas are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent clients in labor and employment litigation, addressing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, and related claims.

Conduct comprehensive legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and prepare for hearings, depositions, and trials.

Prepare for and attend depositions

Offer strategic advice and guidance to clients on labor and employment law compliance, risk mitigation, and best practices.

Assist in internal investigations of employee complaints and allegations of misconduct.

Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to efficiently manage caseloads and meet client deadlines.

Stay on top of developments in labor and employment law, engaging in continuing education and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar Association.

Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing employer-side labor & employment law in a law firm setting. Candidates with experience in other defense litigation areas are welcome to apply.

Proficiency in federal and California employment laws, regulations, and legal procedures.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Excellent research and analytical abilities.

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic work environment, demonstrating adaptability.

High level of professionalism and commitment to client service, with a focus on confidentiality

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is commensurate based on experience, but the proposed range for this role is $145k-$220k annually. In addition to this there is a comprehensive bonus structure, including discretionary annual bonuses and performance-based bonuses.
