Manage the day-to-day administration and overall coordination of contract/labor administration.

Primary Responsibilities

Labor Relations

Prepare research and analysis of historical contracts, past practice, bargaining history, payroll records and or benefits history; facilitate discussions with senior leadership to determine next steps on open issues.

Participate in and maintain documentation related to grievance meetings, arbitrations and other union meetings.

Ensure proper implementation of resolution of any labor issues.

Track progress on all open labor issues

Laisse with union leadership on active issues or grievances.

Contract Administration and Management Support

§Manage intake and resolution of day-to-day contract interpretation questions raised by department managers, Human Resources, Payroll and or employees.

Contract Negotiations

Assist the management bargaining committee in researching, preparing and costing management proposals.

Participate in and take detailed minutes for all bargaining meetings.

Draft Memoranda of Agreements and collective bargaining agreements.

Lead implementation of all new agreements. Follow-up with relevant departments to ensure contract compliance and integration.

Employee Relations

Support Human Resources with progressive disciplinary investigations and actions. Participate in disciplinary meetings as needed.

Other

Maintain complete files of all labor agreements and related documents.

Support with regulatory compliance efforts and policy drafting and implementation.

Skills and Qualifications

College degree or equivalent required.

At least two years of HR experience required.

Labor relations work experience highly preferred.

Highly proficient in Word and Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication and must be a team player.

Excellent attention to detail.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Reasoning ability: Ability to understand and meet established deadlines and follow up. Able to establish priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Work is predominantly onsite at the Met Opera House.
