Greenhouse Technician - Entry

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to work onsite in Filer, ID at Bayer's greenhouse facility. This is a full-time contract position that requires the ability to work 40 hours per week.You will work as a laboratory assistant helping researchers with their scientific greenhouse projects. Verifiable work experience is required. Will train. Experience working in a greenhouse, growth chamber, or laboratory environment is highly desired.salary: $15 - $18 per hour

Responsibilities

In this greenhouse role, you will support greenhouse research by learning the greenhouse environmental control system - an automated watering and pot-filling system. You will work as part of a team, planting seeds into trays, transplanting seedlings, watering plants, collecting seeds from plants, washing seeds, using a microscope to look at seeds, and documenting in a computer system.

The work requires the ability to work in warm temperatures and it can be physically demanding. It may require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting materials.

Work areas must be kept clean - prepping the lab, sweeping floors, changing growth chamber light bulbs, etc.

All required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn and established safety procedures followed.

Excellent organizational, observational, and communication skills are needed. You will be encouraged to contribute to the greenhouse operation protocols.
