We are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to enhance our services portfolio, which includes air and ground transportation, ocean freight, and logistics documentation. This remote position requires candidates to be based near Kansas City, MO to facilitate occasional office visits and local client interactions.

This role is ideal for a visionary professional eager to influence the logistics market. You will develop new business in both domestic and international markets, crafting solutions that meet diverse client needs, and continuously drive toward revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Expand Freight Services: Strategically expand our ocean and airfreight services, identifying new opportunities and markets.

Logistics Solutions: Analyze and meet customer needs by offering bespoke logistics solutions, including shipping, warehousing, and transportation management.

Sales Territory Management: Maintain and grow business volumes while exploring new opportunities within your sales territory.

Marketing Initiatives: Engage in comprehensive marketing efforts for our transportation and warehousing solutions, increasing visibility and market share.

Sales Activities: Conduct regular sales calls, maintain robust business relationships, and prepare detailed proposals in response to RFPs.

Cold Calling: Utilize cold calling and follow-ups to uncover new business opportunities and expand the client base.

Pricing Strategies: Lead pricing strategy sessions, ensuring competitive and compelling offers, and deliver persuasive sales presentations.

Client Representation: Represent the company in sales meetings and client entertainment activities, fostering relationships and industry partnerships.

Requirements

Industry Experience: Proven success in sales or business development within logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.

Freight Forwarding: Familiarity with freight forwarding and international logistics practices, including ocean, air, and ground transportation.

Track Record: An established network of contacts and a track record of business growth in logistics or transportation.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in logistics, business, or a related field.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for proposals, presentations, and client interactions.

Planning: Effective planning and organizational abilities, with a knack for meeting deadlines and managing logistics operations.

Networking: Skilled in networking and participating in industry-related organizations to grow business opportunities.

Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce for managing client data, proposals, and reports.
