POSITION SUMMARY:

A Poker Shift Supervisor shall be responsible for both the efficient operation of the Poker Room, and dealing all assigned poker tables while creating a fun, exciting, entertaining environment with service that exceeds the guests’ expectations. All Poker Supervisors must adhere to the Poker Department policies and procedures. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort policies and procedures, internal control standards and objectives.

Essential POSITION Functions and Responsibilities:

Monitors controls designed to assure full compliance with state, federal, and tribal regulatory requirements.

Maintain a routine inspection of cards and Gaming equipment while ensuring the security of all Poker games at all times.

Shall assist in monitoring procedures on the Poker games to ensure the integrity of the games while on duty.

Shall ensure that organizational and regulatory policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.

Shall handle customer and employee disputes that may arise and settle disputes in a manner that expresses excellent customer service as well as ensuring that the best interests of the Saracen Casino Resort is considered at all times.

Ensure accuracy for all Poker tables in monetary transactions and accounting.

Shall make table fills/credits as needed.

Shall monitor any and all unusual activity between team members and/or patrons for possible collusion and relay all such information to the Poker Manager in a timely manner.

Shall communicate all suspicious play of all patrons who are participating in defrauding DCR or its guests in a timely manner.

Shall assist the Poker Manager, along with any or all of the following; the Table Games Shift Manager, Security Shift Manager, and Beverage Shift Supervisor, in identifying patrons who are causing a disturbance in the Poker Room and any of its games.

Evaluate team member performance and provide feedback.

Monitor team member performance and make recommendations to the Poker Manager in order to assist the Poker Department with recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, discipline, terminations and other personnel related issues.

Utilize effective communication tools to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is passed along to incoming and outgoing Poker Shift Supervisors.

Ensure that the Poker Department presents a professional and clean environment for both team members and guests.

Communicate regularly with employees and keep them informed on all Poker Room and Casino events and activities.

Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with all team members.

Demonstrates working knowledge of all forms of Poker, dealing policies and general gaming procedures.

Sustains a friendly, supportive and enthusiastic attitude towards guests.

Displays positive acceptance of demanding scheduling needs.

Creates teamwork by performing all dealing functions in a professional and accurate manner.

Assists in maintaining a spotless environment by removing and storing all chip racks and tray tables and disposing of any cups, glasses or bottles left behind by guests.

Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in a professional manner.

Adheres to company attendance and uniform appearance standards.

Attends all necessary training meetings as warranted.

Assist in other projects as directed.

Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a daily/weekly schedule.

Must be able to perform in either job capacity whenever scheduled to work.

At all times acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Saracen Casino Resort and the Poker Department.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Prefer three years of dealing and/or experience as a Poker Supervisor.

Successful candidate must be an experienced, results oriented, and hands-on professional.

Must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to the customers and team members.

Must possess ability to instill a sense of pride and provide leadership with all subordinates.

Must possess excellent communication skills.

Ability to communicate all irregularities to the Poker Manager on a consistent basis.

Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with all customers and team members.

Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.

Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Able to work in fast-paced stressful environment.

Able to lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds.

Able to bend, reach, twist, and grip items while working at assigned table.

Operate in a mentally and physically stressful situation.
