Job Description
General:
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment regarding the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Successfully completes small to medium projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Works closely with Project Managers (PM) or Senior Project Field Engineers for technical review and guidance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specifications
Evaluate fundamental engineering guidelines, code compliance requirements and industry standards
Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects
Assist in the preparation of commissioning specifications and basis of design documents and during design and submittal reviews
Assist in developing proposals and responses to RFP’s on commissioning projects
Assist in the documentation processes and assist in the development of procedures related to commissioning activities
Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projects
Responsible for meeting the client’s project and financial goals and objectives
Assist in business development by pursuing new work including participation in client presentations
Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors
Assist in the firm’s human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm members
Update job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm’s Technical Committee as requested
Interstate travel is periodically required
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited engineering program
Minimum of 5 years of experience with a consulting engineering firm, commissioning firm or contractor
Working knowledge of MEP building systems and commissioning requirements of LEED and LEED AP certification
Good understanding of the architectural, engineering and construction industry
Experience with sustainable design practices or facilities operations is preferred
Possess clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment
Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities
Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and work effectively as part of a project team
Ability to meet and exceed client expectations
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Experience with Deltek Vision or Project Resource Management software is preferred
Required/Preferred Credentials:
PE license is preferred
LEED certification is preferred
Certifications in areas of expertise are preferred
Job Classification and Scheduled work hours:
Full Time Salaried Exempt Employee. Exempt employees are ineligible for Overtime Pay.
Standard workweek is Monday-Friday
Minimum 8 working hours/day (40 hours/week Monday-Friday) within the firm’s hours of operation of 7:00a.m.-6:00p.m.
You may be required to work extra hours in order to meet client’s demands and project delivery target dates.
Travel to client meetings and worksites may be required on occasion.
