NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health (formerly Coney Island Hospital), located in Southern Brooklyn, accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

PAGNY is seeking a part time Physician Assistant (benefit eligible position) for weekend (Saturday and Sunday) coverage(12 hr shifts) of our Neonatology Division at South Brooklyn Hospital:

Duties Include:

Present along with attending physician for all deliveries

Assist with all neonatal resuscitations

Attend to all well-babies in the mother-baby unit

Assist/write notes for evaluations of all neonates for clearance for weekend discharges

Provide additional coverage support to the NICU when needed

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program

BLS/ACLS certification

NYS License Required

NCCPA Certification Required

Level II NICU Preferred

Cultural sensitivity to a diverse and under-served patient population

Must have proven ability to work in a team environment
