Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality, the Quality Assurance Document Control Specialist is responsible for the review, routing, distribution, labeling and filing of documentation . Maintaining accurate and compliant documentation within our organization and requires a thorough knowledge of computer applications. The QA Document Control Specialist works on site daily supporting the Ogden, Utah site.
Responsibilities
Assist the Manager in ensuring all legal standards and regulatory compliances will be met.
Assures compliance with the facility's revision and updates of their preventive control plans and HACCP system programs under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) and FDA
Assists the manufacturing facilities team in the validation and annual reassessment process of their preventive control plans and HACCP system programs
Provide support to the manufacturing facilities team with the management of non-conformance issues, corrective action, closure of CARs, and preventive actions
Supports manufacturing facilities team in the implementation, maintenance, and reassessment of quality and food safety certification programs
Validate and verify implementation of traceability systems, food defense programs, new products, production lines, and production equipment
Provide support for the customer, suppliers, and other audit programs
Update and create document controls to manage and update items such as production line forms, SOPs, etc.
Track allergens, write reports, and edit documentation
Apply for and renew critical certifications promptly while ensuring that certification benchmarks are met
Develop, revise, and conduct training for SOPs
Develop a new HACCP plan and update any changes
Participate in change management initiatives
Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP
Requirements:
Degree in Food Science or a related field is required
Minimum 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance of food production/manufacturing is required
HACCP Certification is an asset
Prior experience in the beverage industry is an asset
Excellent communication skills with a focus on written communication as this position requires high-volume reporting and professional document management
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Suite of Applications), and instructional software
Skill in organization, analysis, and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple tasks
