Role: Benefits & Compensation Analyst

Location: Washington, DC

Type: Contract to Hire (Onsite)

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Benefits and Compensation Analyst to join our growing HR team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our employees receive a competitive compensation package and understand the valuable benefits offered. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our benefits program, ensuring compliance, and working collaboratively to develop and implement competitive compensation strategies.

Responsibilities

Benefits:

Oversee all aspects of our employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave.

Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (ERISA, ADA, ACA, COBRA) by staying current with updates.

Manage broker relationships to optimize benefits, control costs, and communicate changes effectively to staff.

Provide clear and concise communication to employees regarding benefits plans, maximizing plan utilization.

Process and maintain accurate monthly bills and claims payments.

Review bi-weekly payroll for precise benefits deductions.

Coordinate FMLA leaves for staff, ensuring clear communication and managing documentation.

Analyze benefits data and propose updates to the employee handbook to enhance department efficiency and services.

Compensation:

Partner with the HR team to develop, implement, and maintain competitive compensation programs.

Conduct thorough market research to ensure salaries remain competitive within the industry.

Coordinate the annual salary increase process, ensuring staff understanding and timely execution.

Communicate effectively with staff regarding compensation and answer any questions they may have.

Analyze positions to ensure accurate classification within our pay structure and ensure compliance with equal pay laws.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably with a focus on benefits and compensation.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll systems (Ceridian, Paycom, ADP, or similar platforms).

Strong understanding of and proven ability to comply with diverse compensation and benefits laws and regulations.

Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive approach to process follow-up and documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documents with discretion and professionalism.

Outstanding interpersonal skills, with sound judgment and a positive attitude.

Strong work ethic and dedication to the organization's mission and goals.
