Position Summary:

The Area Foreman will monitor and document the designated work area's progress, up to and including the quality and quantity of work performed by the job crew. They will serve as the liaison between the job superintendent and the workforce.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Work with Superintendents to plan, organize, and direct the work of job crew employees daily.

Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, and job folder contract scope.

Attend coordination meetings as required and provide the necessary information.

Receive and review weekly job assignments.

Prepare sketches that might assist with installations.

Complete a detailed list of all required materials, tools, and manpower for job assignments and communicate requirements with the direct Superintendent.

Assist in the monitoring and documentation of the progress of the job using appropriate forms and procedures as directed by the Superintendent.

Provide the workforce with current and accurate information as generated by the Superintendent, including RFI's, memorandums, and any other forms of communication devices.

Assist in the communication of company policies and procedures to the job crew.

Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Codes as needed.

Order daily materials as needed for your work area and follow up on backorders as necessary through the Superintendent.

Monitor and manage tool control for assigned Jobsite location(s).

Monitor and track employee work time as necessary and assist Superintendent and workforce in the proper coding of time cards as required.

Be available to the team for any questions regarding tasks being performed.

Ensure the job site is properly cleaned up at the end of each workday.

Ensure compliance with all job safety standards established by Tri-City and all regulatory agencies.

Experience and Education:

Required:

Minimum of three (3) years experience as an Electrician

Must have a strong working knowledge of National Electrical Codes with the ability to read and interpret blueprints

Must be proficient in the use of all hand tools typically used for electrical work, systems, and troubleshooting and in the use of operating procedures for large pipe-bending equipment, wire-pulling machines, and earth-moving equipment such as backhoes.

Preferred:

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

Bilingual

Journeyman Electrical License

Supervisory experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:

While there are no direct supervisory responsibilities, the Area Foreman may assist the Supervisor team with training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, and assisting with ensuring safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.

Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.

Ability to wear company-approved Personal Protective Equipment per local, state, federal, or OSHA regulations.

The employee must frequently lift and move items a minimum of 25 pounds, occasionally lifting and/or moving objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.

Requires the ability to perform physical duties listed above for extended periods.

This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/printers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This job operates in an indoor professional office or job site environment. May work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to various extreme conditions while at various locations.

Employees will be exposed to moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic).

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work, and Travel:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary but equate to 40 hours per week. May be requested to work overtime, nights, and weekends.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
