Job Description

Hussey Copper has an opening for a Security Officer at out Leetsdale, PA location.

SUMMARY Guards property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

Periodically patrols buildings and grounds of industrial plant and offices. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.

Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.

Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.

Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

Observes personnel to guard against theft of company property.

Permits authorized persons to enter property.

Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.

Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow. Records scale weights of incoming and outgoing truck shipments.

Inspects and cuts seals off or trucks using appropriate hand tools including tin snips, cable cutters, and bolt cutters..

Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three months related experience. Must have valid driver's license and the ability to become First Aid/CPR certified. Must have PC experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

The employee is regularly required to talk, hear stand and walk. Occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
