What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven subject matter expert to join our growing company. This position will directly support our Associate VP of NDE and field teams across the nation to produce and deliver technical and management reports/deliverables as necessary. Field time may consist of up to 50% travel.

What You’ll Do:

Performing inspections of steel structures including, but not limited to, welds, pin and hanger assemblies, cracks including those caused by fatigue, and other fracture critical elements

Assisting in the development of in-house ASNT TC-1A training and certification programs

Developing and training a staff of ASNT certified steel inspectors

Oversee field testing to ensure the quality of testing and data collection

Development of testing procedures and scan, calibration, and data collection plans for multiple metal and connection types

Becoming familiar with traditional BDI testing and monitoring equipment and including it in your sales repertoire

Research and development to further identify how focal laws, focal length, near field depths, beam spread, attenuation, dead zones, noise, and other ultrasonic testing parameters can impact accuracy of detection and how the procedures will account for these parameters to ensure accurate detection

Defining certification standards and validation of equipment operators for metal NDE

Evaluation of data collection to locate, quantify, and characterize discontinuities

Assisting in business development to increase the work performed by the steel NDT division

Project management of steel NDT projects, including logistical planning; client correspondence; project execution; assurance that field and reporting deadlines are met; budget tracking; forecasting; and invoicing

Project execution of steel NDT projects includes coordination with field crews ensuring they are following BDI standards for field testing and instrumentation of existing structures using destructive and nondestructive methods

Assist with project team schedules, assignments, and additional coordination as needed

This position will provide fieldwork in support of project delivery, as required

Management and mentorship of junior staff

Writing, reviewing, and presenting final deliverables for assigned projects

Other duties and special projects as assigned

What You Need to Be Successful:

ASNT Level III certification required

Exposure, experience, and ASNT Level III certification in PAUT, TOFD, and TFM/FMC preferred

Experience with weld testing of T-1 steel preferred

Exposure and experience in other nondestructive testing, data processing and analysis, report writing, and client interaction

Ability to balance field and office work

Proficient knowledge of bridges and dams and how to test and interpret analysis data

Ability to drive results through strong project management and on-site supervision

Qualifications:

5-10 years of steel NDT experience

ASNT Level III certification required

Willing to travel (up to 50% field work) and willing to work out in the field

Experience with hand tools

Starting Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 dependent on experience
