Full Time - 1st Shift

Bradford Company has manufactured packaging products and material handling systems since 1924 and provides expertise and high quality solutions to some of the largest companies in the world. The Company is a fifth generation family-owned business. We are seeking qualified, certified Hi-Lo Driver for first shift for our manufacturing operation.

Pay range for this position is based on qualifications and experience.

SUMMARY: Supports the Manufacturing group by performing all required material movement processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Failure to perform listed duties safely could result in serious injury to self or others.

Operates forklift and hand cart equipment to move materials through Receiving, Manufacturing and Shipping ensuring safe transit of loads, including loading and unloading trucks. Works from production schedules to proactively plan required material movements.

Organizes materials in a safe, orderly and efficient manner in all areas of the plant and outside pallet dock consistent with established Lean Manufacturing processes.

Records inventory transactions in ERP system including issues, transfers, and adjustments using bar coding equipment and/or manual entries.

Communicates and works directly with Lean Materials Specialists to determine material movement activities.

Participates in and promotes cross training, task teams and training activities and in the development, implementation and maintenance of Lean Manufacturing processes (i.e. 5S, kaizen, kanban, value stream mapping).

Recognizes material defects and stock levels and report discrepancies per established processes.

Segregates and prepares required materials for shipment to satellite facilities.

Replenishes lab stock and complete inventory transactions for lab stock requirements.

Participates in cycle counting and physical inventory.

Operates baler equipment and maintains baler room area, scrap and recycle trailers.

Evaluates materials for required documentation, defects, and potential environmental hazards. Notifies appropriate personnel of non-conformances.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None required for this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
