Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team at Skutt. This position requires a diverse engineering background to support product design; processing, assembly; quality, and lean manufacturing activities.

Job Overview:

This position works with a small team of Engineers and is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and integrating new products, tooling, and equipment into Skutt’s manufacturing systems.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Evaluates manufacturing processes, product design, assembly, tooling, and materials.

Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or application.

Works with equipment vendors and area operators to achieve customer and production needs.

Develops manufacturing processes to meet product safety, quality, and cost requirements.

Researches, designs, modifies, and tests manufacturing methods and equipment.

Improves productivity by planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; and confirming manufacturing processes.

Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.

Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

Other duties may be assigned.

Position Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four-year college or university.

A minimum of four years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Electrical engineering experience is desirable to support our controller and heating element designs and manufacturing cells.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical journals, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Self-starter, active problem solver, and ability to analyze information.

Significant experience with both 2D and 3D CAD modeling software required, ideally SolidWorks, but otherwise a CAD software equivalent.

Adept in using various computer applications including databases, spreadsheets, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, communicating by email, and using scheduling software.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite is highly recommended. Data Entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.

Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs. occasionally and be able to sit, stand use hands and fingers to type or dial and talk and hear.

Occasional overnight travel for visits to suppliers, continuous improvement opportunities or educational events.

Valid Driver's license and acceptable driving record. Automobile liability coverage or access to an insured vehicle as needed.

Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday

Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1 hr. lunch)

Salary: Starting $ 80,000 - 90,000 depending on experience
