Job Title: HR Generalist
Department: Administration
Supervisor: Senior Director Human Resources
Location: Washington, D.C - Hybrid (4 days in the office and 1 remote)
Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Synopsis: Working under the direction of the Senior Director Human Resources, the HR Generalist is responsible for performing “Best Practices” in the delivery of Human Resources functions. The HR Generalist’s primary responsibilities is benefits administration tasks, compensation, training, regulatory and compliance, employee engagement, personnel file maintenance, and other generalist functions as required. The position will also require interfacing directly with employees of the La Clínica del Pueblo as a point of contact on any HR related issues and questions.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, required; in the field of human resources, preferred;
2+ years of experience as HR Generalist
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, required;
Previous recruitment and onboarding experience, strongly preferred;
Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local legislation concerning employment laws, ERISA, and other regulation, preferred;
Experience in the creation and maintenance of reports in support of the Full Cycle Recruitment and other HR related areas, strongly preferred;
Experience in event planning, preferred, and;
Experience in online data management, required; experience with HRIS systems, preferred;
Proficient in Office 365 or similar transferrable skills, required

Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefits
Serves primary administrator of employee benefits:
Conducts new hire benefit’s orientations.
Manages Training & Development funds;
Manages transportation benefit;
Manages performance evaluation and disciplinary actions in HRIS system
Enrolls employees in Principal;
Directs employees to the relevant literature to answer their questions on employee benefits, policies, and procedures; and
Manage and coordinate Open Enrollment season and planning of the Wellness Fair.
Liaison between agency and benefit brokers.
Conducts and coordinates employee COVID cases
Administers Worker’s Comp and FMLA
Compliance
Manages HRIS administration, creates and delivers HR reports, ensuring HR data is kept current, accurate, and readily available to support the invoicing process;
Maintains employee employee benefit files and health records to ensure regulatory and compliance readiness with government regulatory agencies (certifications, licensure, trainings, and other required documentation);
Assists in the reviews and updates of HR policies and procedures;
Maintains confidentiality of personnel-related information with integrity at all times;
Develops tracking systems to ensure on-time notification and completion of compliance related tasks;
Responsible for overall compliance matters; regulatory agencies and vendor data to include EEO, benefit documents, licensure/certifications, medical plan summaries, retirement plan, employment, and other HR compliance matters in regard to all state and federal mandates;
Prepares documents for review by HR Director prior to report submission to appropriate entities;
Works with managers to educate and inform on related standards;
Assists in the communication of notices/announcements to all relevant staff;
Takes an active role in the Events & Wellness Committee:
Brainstorms and executes ideas to improve staff morale;
Seeks employee feedback for events;
Coordinates committee meetings;
Works with venues and vendors in the planning of events; and
Purchases event supplies.
Collaborates and supports other staff members to accomplish overall HR unit goals; and
Supports the HR department in the performance of other duties and special projects as requested.
Performance Evaluation:
To be performed at the end of the 90-day probationary period, at the completion 12 months of employment, and annually thereafter.
