Individual/Group Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking an Individual/Group Therapist (Counselor) to join our team! You must have a Master's Degree in Counseling and experience and clinical experience is recommended. You will provide recovery-oriented rehabilitation services in group or individual settings, in a private day Special Education school. As well as respond to students in crisis, providing interventions and focusing on the individual goals of each student. Experience with parent communications and the linking of services is required.

Responsibilities:

Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues

Offer assistance to individuals with multiple issues

Provide prevention-oriented therapy

Implement and review treatment plans

Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies

Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields

Familiarity with community mental health resources

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Ability to build rapport with clients

Mission: The mission of the Educational Development Center's therapeutic programming is to provide a therapeutic, intensive academic and behavioral program to students who have been identified as emotionally disabled, learning disabled, intellectually disabled, autism, multi-disabled and those with other health impairments.
