The Sr. Manager of R&D Engineering works independently overseeing and participating on engineering project teams in the development of medical device products ensuring the concepts, and/or prototypes meet their product requirements and international standards to ensure successful completion and regulatory approval.

Responsibilities

Manage Bioskills future plans, budget and new product usability activities.

Manage a group of Biomedical Engineers and Technicians to develop relevant clinical model to test and assess new product designs.

Data oriented and able to analyze different product related features with data analysis.

Attend and observe cases, as requested.

Develop new product concepts and products.

Perform engineering design and process development.

Participate in training program for new Account Managers.

Generate intellectual property, writes invention disclosures.

Supervise, train, hire, and coach engineering team members.

Direct the specification and testing of new materials and designs.

Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.

Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally.

Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed, and the methods used

by engineering team.

Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by.

Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes.

Confer with appropriate departments, resources, and/or outside services to prepare design modifications, clarify problems and develop designs.

Other duties assigned, as necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; preferred.

Minimum 10 years related medical device experience.

Minimum of 2 years management experience; 4 years preferred.

Prior management of medical product(s) thru full life cycle and regulatory approval.

SolidWorks proficiency required.

Computer skills including Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.

Strong analytical and technical skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Define, plan, manage and prioritize project goals.

Knowledge of medical and technical development.

Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills.

Previous experience of managing technical and engineering functions.

Knowledge of US, or international, medical device regulatory requirements.

Knowledge of standard machine shop equipment and processes and medical device manufacturing equipment and processes.

Inari Medical offers competitive health and wealth benefits for our employees. The base pay range for this position is $165,000 - $195,000. A range of factors, including location, skills, and experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
