Keymark Corporation of New York, an aluminum extrusion manufacturing plant, is actively interviewing applicants for a Staff Accountant at the Fonda manufacturing plant. Starting salary range depending on your experience and knowledge is $50,000–$60,000/annually.

Scope of the role:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to assist with general accounting operations. This position will be responsible for a variety of duties ranging from bookkeeping, month-end close processes, and reconciliations, to analytical duties, such as monitoring, compiling, and trending data utilized to make corporate policy decisions. The Staff Accountant will ensure compliance and monitor the overall performance of the six Keymark companies. In order to do this, the individual in this position must have a good understanding of general business processes, and the manufacturing industry, be able to multi-task, and be a team player. This position will prepare various journal entries as well as month-end reports. The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and assist with any ad hoc reporting or other projects that arise.

Primary duties:

Analyze and Report on various financial and production data, including but not limited to:

Payroll hours (regular and overtime)

Inventory Analysis

Weekly Dash Board

Monthly Sales

Transportation Costs

Key Performance Indicators

Commissions

Prepare and post journal entries

Reconcile bank statements monthly

Maintain various schedules supporting GL balances

Prepare monthly commissions

File Quarterly Estimated Tax Payments

Review monthly financial statements for accuracy and investigate variances

Develop and maintain reporting spreadsheets

Perform various cost and revenue analysis projects

Navigate the various internal software applications to investigate issues, perform research and report on data

Work with the IT department to improve reporting & efficiencies

Ensure financial reporting records are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Assist in compiling data for the Financial Statement Audit and Bank Audits

Review the consistency and accuracy of the use of general ledger accounts

Ensure proper accounts are utilized for employee’s wages within ADP

Assist in updating and/or developing Standard Operating Procedures & Policies for the Accounting/Finance department

Act as a back-up for Keymark NY invoicing as needed

Special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Prior experience in accounting or finance roles required (2-3+years)

Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to compile and analyze data

Ability to quickly learn how to navigate a variety of internal systems (Dynamics GP, EPICS, Winsys, ADP, Fixed Asset Manager)

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) ERP Software preferred

Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Work requires professional written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills

Requires flexibility and ability to multi-task

Determine appropriate general ledger accounts to be used when unusual invoicing issues arise

Determine method to address unique credit memo situations while maintaining system integrity as well as accurate commissions earned

Mediate issues between accounting and other departments (IT, Purchasing, HR.)

Determine a plan of action when accounting errors are identified
