Systems Administrator

Job Description

We are offering an exciting role for a Systems Administrator based in ROCHESTER, New York. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior system administrators, implementing and maintaining security protocols, and evaluating and recommending new technologies. This role also requires collaboration with IT and business stakeholders for the development and implementation of IT projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide guidance to junior system administrators

• Implement and ensure the maintenance of security protocols to safeguard the organization's data

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to align with and achieve organizational goals

• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to develop and implement IT projects

• Perform system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery planning

• Monitor system performance and ensure high levels of availability and security

• Utilize VMware, PowerShell, and MS Office 365 to enhance productivity and system administration tasks.

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of Systems Administrator

• Proven expertise in VMware is required

• Demonstrable skills in using PowerShell is a necessity

• Proficiency in MS Office 365 is a must

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills are required

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential

• Must possess a strong understanding of system administration standards and best practices

• The ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively is vital

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred

• Relevant professional certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), will be an added advantage

• Must be available to work on-site and willing to work outside regular business hours, if necessary

• Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals is mandatory.
