Operations Department

The Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health and wellbeing of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, customer service and performance of all data modules at each campus. The teams are staffed 24 x 7 on site with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) on each shift. These teams are the face of Vantage to our customers and the first line of defense regarding the uptime of our campus as well as the general health of our customer installations. Using a Critical Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and keep track of needed work, each campus Site Operations Department handles all preventative and corrective maintenance on-site for our campuses located throughout North America. Our culture expects and rewards operations teams that engage directly with the customers and the facility infrastructure. These teams do most of the work themselves versus calling out constantly to vendors. As a result, we deliver superior service that is faster and more cost effective. We ensure that service through transparent reporting on all key performance metrics giving the customers the capacity to focus on their operations without having to manage the performance of the facilities.

Position Overview

Vantage is seeking a highly motivated SharePoint Developer to enhance the North American Operations team's interactive and document management capabilities through leading SharePoint solutions. The SharePoint Developer will be tasked with crafting and handling SharePoint sites, libraries, and roadmaps to integrate operations, improve business processes, and enhance collaboration. They will work in tandem with partners to certify SharePoint platforms are tailored to meet company objectives, promoting efficiency and consistency across operations. The role involves enabling users to successfully use SharePoint features for document management and process automation. Additionally, the developer will ensure the integrity and security of SharePoint data and provide insights on standard processes for SharePoint usage and content management. They are tasked with maintaining the quality and reliability of the SharePoint environment, demonstrating their technical expertise to drive strategic improvements and operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions

Lead SharePoint custom applications, create and maintain SharePoint sites, and propose and implement governance strategy and controls

Design, develop, debug, test, deploy, and document SharePoint solutions using out-of-the-box functionality, as well as custom development using Visual Studio, C#, .NET, VSCode, Javascript, HTML 5, CSS, ECMA 6, Node.js, etcetera..

Participate in the architectural design, development, customization, and integration efforts of solutions involving collaboration, portals, content management, and workflows

Develop and administer data and integrations between SharePoint and other enterprise systems

Diagnose and resolve application, configuration, and code level technical support issues

Analyze new software products to enhance automation and business development

Discuss solutions with end users, understanding their business needs and how to use SharePoint and supporting technologies to build customized solutions

Work with vendors for implementation, support and resolution of third-party software solutions

Develop both technical and end user documentation as well as administer training for end users as needed

Communication: Understands the significance of and demonstrates verbal, written, and non-verbal communications

Excellent Teammate: Works within team and multi-functionally to meet required results

Self-Starter: We are looking for candidates who take initiative and can deliver results with incomplete requirements with minimal guidance

Position may require occasional off-hour meetings and events

Duties

Design and Develop SharePoint Solutions: Craft custom SharePoint solutions, including sites, lists, libraries, and workflows to meet business requirements, improving collaboration, document management, and process automation.

Custom Web Parts and Components Creation: Develop custom web parts and components to enhance SharePoint functionality, ensuring a tailored experience that meets specific operational needs.

SharePoint Security: Configure SharePoint permissions, ensuring secure access to documents and data while aligning with organizational security policies

Data Integration and Management: Integrate SharePoint with other business systems (e.g., CRM, ERP) for consistent data flow and management, enhancing operational efficiency and data consistency.

User Training and Support: Conduct training sessions for end-users, providing them with the skills needed to adequately use SharePoint features, and offer ongoing support to resolve any issues.

Responsive Design Implementation: Implement responsive design principles to ensure SharePoint solutions are accessible and user-friendly across various devices and platforms.

Migration and Upgrade Projects: Lead SharePoint migration and upgrade projects, ensuring smooth flows across different versions or environments with minimal disruption.

Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor SharePoint performance, identifying and addressing issues to ensure optimal operation and user experience.

Partnership: Work closely with IT, project management, and business units to align SharePoint development with overarching organizational goals and strategies.

Documentation and Best Practices: Develop comprehensive documentation for SharePoint solutions, including architecture designs, configuration settings, and maintenance procedures, while advocating for standard processes in SharePoint development and usage.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or computer engineering, or other related area and minimum 2 years IT experience, with an emphasis in SharePoint; or Associates degree or technical diploma/degree or equivalent years of related work experience

Knowledge must include architectural design, configuration and troubleshooting SharePoint implementations

Must possess an in depth understanding and hands on capabilities with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013, 2016, SharePoint Online, and SharePoint Designer

Minimum of 2 years of SharePoint development/configuration/implementation experience

Minimum of 3+ years of hands on experience with the Office 365 suite

Experience in Web development using CSS, Bootstrap, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js, XML, etcetera..

Experience with SharePoint Framework development

*Preferred* - Experience the modern toolchain Visual Studio Code, npm, Yeoman, Gulp, Grunt, Node.js, ECMA 6, SASS, LESS, etcetera..

*Preferred* - Experience in Power Platform

Capability to multi-task with solid attention to detail

Enjoy working in an agile environment and resolving unplanned incidents quickly

Self-motivated, proactive, independent & responsive; requires little supervisory attention

Superb ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization with a clear understanding of the importance of providing extraordinary customer service

Familiarity with the following systems: Aderant Handshake, AvePoint DocAve, ULS Viewer

Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization

Self-starter with the ability to productively prioritize and balance various projects, and excel in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least twenty-five (25) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person
