In early February, Cedric Vongerichten (Perry Street) introduced Wayan, a French Indonesian restaurant in Manhattan's Nolita neighborhood. Cedric and his wife, Ochi along with Ezra William are partners in the new restaurant, offering approachable dishes that highlight the vibrant flavors of Ochi's birthplace, Jakarta, with a modern French flair. Dishes are meant to be shared and enjoyed along with refreshing cocktails that highlight Indonesian ingredients as well as a global, accessible list of wines. Designed by Rockwell Group, the 80-seat space is both transportive and intimate, featuring lush greenery, rustic teak paneling and authentic carved wood pieces from Indonesia for a tropical-meets-downtown vibe. Job Description for a Bartending position

• Part time or full time position (2-3 Shifts)

• Previous bartending experience required (2+ years Manhattan experience preferred)

• Flexible availability on nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Employee must perform opening and closing duties required of them

• Must be knowledgeable about the food and beverage menus along with the items’ preparations, ingredients, and sourcing.

• Must be passionate about cocktails and have a basic understanding of wine

• Will be required to prepare juice, bar syrups, and garnishes.

• Will be required to stock and organize wine and liquor bottles.

• Bartenders will occasionally be asked to count inventory

• Basic understanding of food

• Proficient knowledge of construction of cocktail is necessary

• Employee is to be personable and engaging with guests.

• Applicant must have superior communication skills.

• Applicant must be willing to work together with their Front of House and Back of House teammates.

• Bartender must be able efficiently delegate tasks to the Barback in their team appropriate and professional manner.

• Must be willing to assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, specifically the bar

• Position will require the employee to climb up and down stairs multiple times throughout a shift

• Position will require the employee to carry items weighing 30lbs-50lbs
