Position Summary:

The Plant Manager position is responsible for overseeing fermentation operation at the Franklin, WI site. Duties include managing day-to-day operations, maintaining plant equipment, and developing strategies to create optimal plant performance.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee all aspects of the fermentation manufacturing process, ensuring efficient and safe production operations.

Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.

Establish and enforce quality control measures to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Optimize the use of resources, including talent, raw materials, and equipment to maximize production output and minimize waste.

Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure a consistent and reliable supply chain.

Enforce and promote a strong safety culture within the facility, implementing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Conduct regular safety inspections and training programs to minimize workplace accidents and hazards.

Lead and motivate a diverse team of production staff, including operators, technicians, and support personnel.

Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting communication and teamwork to achieve production goals.

Develop and manage budgets for the manufacturing facility, balancing cost considerations while maintaining high-quality production standards.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize operational expenses.

Stay informed of relevant regulations and industry standards, ensuring the facility’s compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

Collaborate with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

Demonstrate experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and/or hold a Black Belt certification, applying these principles to drive continuous improvement, eliminate waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Qualifications:

Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Exceptional time-management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education, Training, Experience

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Production, Operations Management, Business or related field.

5+ years managing teams in a manufacturing and warehousing environment.

Chemical process, biotechnology, food, fermentation, or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Majority of work is conducted in a fermentation production facility and includes frequent exposure to wet, humid, dusty, and noisy conditions.

Work includes lifting (up to 50 lbs.), standing, walking, as well as occasional scooping, kneeling, or crouching.

May be exposed to airborne particles and chemicals used in fermentation production facilities.Safety Requirements:

Mandated use of company-issued uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Adherence to all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
