Plant Engineer

The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Plant Engineer. The Plant Engineer will provide engineering support to maintain continuous plant operations and high efficiency. This position serves as a key technical resource in solving problems relating to stationery and rotating equipment, covering daily plant needs as well as project responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a lead site technical resource for piping systems, stationary equipment, and rotating equipment

Provide technical expertise in the identification, investigation, and resolution of plant operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant reliability and availability

Provide technical expertise to support safe and reliable plant operation and maintenance of components

Support maintenance and work management by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, including simple trouble shooting support

Implement solutions to continuously improve reliability and reduce maintenance cost

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology. 10+ years of power plant experience

Must have good working knowledge of various pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, motors, and gearboxes

Experienced with bearings (rolling & sleeve), couplings, mechanical seals, oil analysis, vibration analysis, outage planning, parts and machinery refurbishment and re-engineering of parts

Solid working knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems design and maintenance, pressure vessel specifications and maintenance

Strong problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the maintenance of industrial boilers, and associated rotating equipment, turbine generators and system auxiliary equipment.

Proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of industrial codes & standards (API, ASME, ANSI, OSHA, State)

Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints and/or work in progress documents

Overall knowledge of power plant operation and steam cycle. Basic understanding of steam turbine generator sets. Basic knowledge of electrical generation, transformer, and power distribution
