Job Summary:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Provide and promote clinical education opportunities for members of Cherokee Nation Health Services (CNHS) such as clinical skill sets; annual competencies, and professional development.

Job Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develops, maintains, and promotes training that promotes and ensures clinical competencies.

· Provides training and direction for clinical competencies.

· Seeks out and utilizes best practices for staff development and training.

· Maintains knowledge of standards, policies, procedures, and processes of CNHS.

· Designs, develops and implements instructional techniques to best meet the needs of CNHS.

· Seeks out and incorporates best practices for staff development and training.

· Ensures documentation of training and staff development is expedited to Cherokee Nation HR for permanent HR file placement.

· Works with leadership to ensure specific training needs are met in the programs, specialties, service lines, and individuals.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

· Performs work under minimal supervision.

· Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

· Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

· Associate’s degree; no substitutions.

· Two (2) years of clinical experience.

· Must have or obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Certification within 60 days of hire.

· Must have or obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Certification within 60 days of hire.

· Must have or obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certification within 60 days of hire.

COMPETENCIES

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

· The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

· Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
