Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance, the Controller oversees key accounting, finance and reporting functions within the organization, including the hiring, performance and training of accounting and finance staff, overall management and supervision of creation of policies and procedures to ensure internal controls, segregation of duties and systems are in place to support effective program implementation and to ensure successful audits. The Controller also provides oversight to the annual revenue and expense budgeting process, including providing staff with budget guidance, timeline, tools, training and hands-on assistance while promoting a budgeting culture and discipline for creating and justifying annual budgets. The Controller provides direct supervision to the Director of Accounting and the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
The Controller is a key finance partner to the Agency’s program leaders and senior management, leveraging interpersonal skills, building partnerships based on communication, collaboration and value-based relationships. Member of the Administrative team.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting
Responsibilities:
Supervises and directs all financial accounting and reporting activities
Facilitate Audit and Finance Committee Meetings
Coordinates with external auditors
Responsible for oversight of tax and regulatory reporting and filings
Monitors budgeted capital expenditures
Directs development of the Annual Operational Budget and Forecasts and oversees financial planning, reporting, and analysis
Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger while maintaining the department specific software
Manages supervisory of accounting staff
Establishes accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP
Oversees activities of accounts receivables, collections and cash management
Maintains internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets and actual expenditures
Consults and advises management on accounting and financial issues
Contributes to strategic planning regarding all facets of accounting and finance
Provides oversite and is a key finance partner to the Executive Director of the Agency’s Foundation which includes oversite of restricted contributions and acts as the designee for pooled trusts
Summarizes business financial position in areas of income, expenses, capital usage and cash flows
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management (M.B.A. or an advanced degree preferred)
CPA and/or CMA certification (desirable)
Required knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of the basic principles of auditing.
Eight to 10 years of accounting experience
Management experience
Budgeting and financial modeling experience
Strong accounting and analytical skills
Ability to provide expert financial perspective and opinions
Detail oriented
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong leadership ability to drive results in fast-paced environment
