Four exciting Field Service Engineer positions have opened due to growth. Rainier Recruiting has partnered with a global Maritime Transportation company. Compensation: $30-34/hour + up to 10 hours of overtime available weekly. Employees often earn 1.5x their base pay with overtime pay.

Location: New Orleans, LA. This role will include a combination of travel, office, home, and field work. Employees can expect to travel nationally and regionally up to 60% each month. The hired employees must live in the general New Orleans area. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately interpret technical drawings and understand the framework of control systems.

Demonstrate proficiency in computer-related tasks, including network management, problem-solving, and modifying control modules.

Utilize multimeters and software tools to diagnose and rectify communication or loop errors.

Develop a thorough understanding of Power Management Systems, including the operation of generators and governor controls for generators and main engines.

Gain expertise in handling both AC and DC electrical motors.

Capable of augmenting or adjusting control logic as needed.

Acquire familiarity with a variety of communication protocols such as CAN, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, and TCP/IP.

Ensure timely submission of timesheets and expense reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent training in the industry or military.

Understanding of fundamental Electrical/Electronic control system principles, including PID controllers, filters, and communication protocols.

Proficient in creating and understanding technical documents.

Skilled in diagnosing issues in low voltage electrical components, including proficiency with multimeters.

Preferably experienced with PLC / SCADA systems and their framework.
