Job Description
Three Rivers Marine & Rail Terminals is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Specialists to join our corporate finance team. The Accounting & Payroll Specialist will assist with month-end close and will be responsible for processing payroll on a weekly basis. The Accounting & Payroll Specialist should be proactive, reliable, and excel at balancing details.
General Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end closing and general ledger account reconciliations
Process state sales & use tax monthly returns.
Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from timesheets and other records (regular hours & overtime, days off & vacation tracking).
Perform duties associated with payroll processing on a weekly basis.
Responsible for maintaining payroll time keeping system.
Prepares all monthly payroll journal entries for general ledger.
Responsible for all payroll related regulatory reporting.
Address employee’s pay-related concerns timely and provide accurate payroll information.
Process all wage garnishments and attachments.
Ensure employee and payroll information is secured and kept confidential.
Required Experience:
Associates Degree in business preferred.
At least 2 years of accounting experience required
At least 2 years of payroll processing using payroll service companies’ software required.
Experience with multi-company payroll processing.
Knowledge of benefits and Human Resources policies.
Solid knowledge of accounting and month/year end process.
Proficient in Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to accurately work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment to meet deadlines.
Must be detailed oriented, organized and handle various assignments.
Overtime as required.
