Quality Assurance Supervisor

This award-winning established start up is looking for 2 Quality Supervisors to join their ever growing, quality dedicated team. You will be tasked with day-to-day oversight and responsibility of key quality and operational programs, assisting with the implementation and maintenance of SPC, Food Safety Plan and SQF Programs.

This position will be a key member of the staff helping drive teamwork, building teamwork and proper culture. Additionally, this position will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day implementation of our quality systems. The position will also be responsible for ensuring compliance to GMP standards and all company, local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and standards.

Essential Job Functions:

Lead, direct and train employees to achieve quality and food safety standards

Work day-to-day with the Quality Control Manager and with direct oversight over the Quality Control Technicians

Creates and maintains an engaged and team-oriented work force to improve business results

Help expand and improve business quality systems as the company continues to grow

Lead continuous improvement and root cause analysis teams to drive facility development

Consults with management, providing leadership on quality and food safety in the manufacturing facility

Day-to-day oversight and responsibility over key quality and operational programs, with oversight from department manager and facility management

Assists in the implementation and maintenance of SPC, Food Safety Plan, and SQF programs

Monitor and maintain facility compliance to regulatory and SQF standards

Assist in managing internal, external, and regulatory inspections

Participate in audit preparation activities, accompany auditor, complete any necessary reporting or corrective actions as required

Identify and report of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department

Assist in managing the facility document control program, and sanitation programs on an as needed basis

Assist in ensuring that all Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements are in-place and fully implemented

Manage laboratory supplies, equipment, and calibrations program

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelorâ s Degree in a related field. Degree in science, engineering, or technology preferred

1-5+ years of food, beverage, or manufacturing experience

Experience in a lean, food manufacturing environment is preferred

Experience with GFSI, SQF, FSSC. HACCP and PCQI certified preferred

He or she will also demonstrate strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills and have the ability to work on a computer (understanding Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills and experience / knowledge of statistical processes
