Patient Care Associate/Translator - Community Health Clinic

Overview:

Expected pay for this position is $21.30 - $25.05/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Associate/Translator assists with Spanish/English translation at the clinic and supports patient support services and operations for the clinic. Responsibilities include translation in all aspects of patient care and direct involvement with student experiences as translators at the clinic.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Bi-lingual English/Spanish • One year of recent experience working in a medical facility, preferably medical office and/or recent externship at a medical facility/office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • One year of recent experience in a healthcare setting utilizing bi-lingual skills Knowledge/Skills • Knowledge of medical terminology, health care field and medical office protocols/procedures. Understanding of documentation standards and guidelines. • Knowledge of equipment, supplies and material needed for medical treatment and care of the patient. Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening. • Knowledge of and ability to use standard office equipment; telephone, fax machine, copier, shredder, computer. Basic knowledgeable of and comfort level with using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. • Knowledge of infectious disease management and control of safety standards. • Knowledge of barriers to healthcare and healthcare access of underserved populations.
