A key member of team that ensures equipment and fleet are safe and operable. You will work with local staff to ensure all sites and equipment are in compliance with TMI standards. If you enjoy working together with team members across the organization to drive improvements this is the job for you!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Fleet/Equipment Repair and Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the fleet and equipment as needed to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Essential Duties
Follow all warehouse safety procedures to ensure OHSA regulatory compliance for the company.
Uphold a tidy, well-organized, and efficient warehouse/workspace, offering suggestions for enhancements to boost efficiency.
Monitor tool inventory and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
Manage rental and service equipment, performing routine inspections and minor repairs as needed.
Ensure the overall upkeep, maintenance, and cleanliness of the facility.
Conduct regular truck/fleet inventory assessments.
Maintain comprehensive records for both onsite fleet maintenance and in-house equipment repairs.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Basic tool knowledge and usage
OSHA Safety Regulations
Knowledge of products and equipment
Basic warehousing knowledge
Basic automobile mechanical knowledge
Trailer towing and repair/maintenance knowledge
Welding skills

Qualifications:
Equipment Operated:
Compression Roller
Welder
Vehicles (Trucks/Cars) of various sizes
Flatbed trucks, Cone Trucks, TMA’s, etc.
Trailered Equipment (i.e. FAS, CMS, LTs, Rumble Strip Trailer, etc.)
Trailer-mounted warning signs
Cones, delineators, drums, barricades, signs, and various other traffic control devices
Forklifts
Basic tools
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Requires standing for prolonged periods of time.
Requires lifting up 50lb.
Requires using hands to handle, control, or lift objects.
Requires being outside and exposed to environmental conditions.
Requires being in a construction environment.
Requires repetitive movement.
Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and moving vehicular traffic.
Exposure to reasonable noise levels.
Onsite, in-field fleet/equipment repairs.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma (or equivalent)
· Minimum 1-2 years of related experience
Pay:
The starting hourly pay for Mechanic's in Detroit will be $20 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type, and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. Traffic Management, Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary may not reflect positions in other states.
