Responsibilities:

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant is a key contributor to the day-to-day accounting operations for the company. The position provides a broad range of accounting and finance support to the Controller, as well as other key executives within the corporate headquarters. The Staff Accountant is exposed to a variety of general ledger and cost accounting functions including fixed assets, inventory, cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, leases, tax, etc. or cost accounting functions including budget, forecasting, planning, financial reviews to support the manufacturing plants.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

Prepare and book journal entries and execute month-end close related tasks

Prepare daily, weekly, and/or monthly account analyses and reconciliations and communicate findings to key stakeholders

Conduct research of reconciling items and associated resolution

Review of accounting guidance (US GAAP) and proper application for relevant business transactions

Maintain documentation and supporting schedules for assigned tasks and accounts

Prepare and send business reports to various internal users including management and executive leadership

Partner with other Finance stakeholders to assist in the development of annual business plans and monthly forecasts

Support annual internal and external audit processes

Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements

Act in compliance with all internal financial controls, upholding a high-level of ethical standards

Participate in business initiatives and special projects

Other projects or duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 2 plus years of accounting related experience inclusive of internship experience

Detailed oriented and process-oriented mindset

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of the organization including executive leadership

Excellent time management skills

Ability to work independently and make decisions using sound judgement

Ability to consult with leaders as needed

Strong teamwork skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office applications

Ability to efficiently learn accounting ERP systems

Up to 10% travel as needed

This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Master’s degree or CPA

Accounting experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods company

Experience with SAP

Experience with PowerBI and associated Microsoft suite Power applications

Experience with Alteryx

Working knowledge of US GAAP

Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies
