Windows Server and Database Administrator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows Server and Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This position can sit in either our Athens, Georgia or Dyersburg, Tennessee location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows Server administration and significant expertise in managing SQL databases. This role involves ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our server infrastructure while effectively managing and enhancing our SQL database environments.

Responsibilities:

Windows Server Administration:

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments.

• Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary adjustments.

• Ensure security and compliance of Windows servers.

• Experience with VMware Esxi and Hyper-V platforms.

• SQL Database Administration:

• Administer and maintain SQL databases to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

• Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

• Performance Optimization:

• Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks in both server and database environments.

• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and improve overall system performance.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain security best practices for both Windows servers and SQL databases.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

• Backup and Disaster Recovery:

• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery plans for both server and database environments.

• Conduct regular tests to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures.

• Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for server and database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Qualifications:

BS in Information Systems or equivalent work experience.

5 years hands on working experience working with SQL Database Administration
