PCU/ICU Charge Nurse

Responsibilities:

Under supervision, organizes and directs the work of a nursing unit and its programs; coordinates staff to assure that effective clinical services are provided, and quality standards are met. The position provides assistance relating to administrative functions to the Director and or CNO and serves as a representative of the department and acts as a liaison to other departments, physicians and individuals.

The Charge Nurse will remain current on education and knowledge of growth and development of infant through geriatric populations served by the facility and specific to the department they practice in. The Charge Nurse will assist in providing opportunities for the staff to increase knowledge in the evaluation of the needs, examinations, and provide education needs to infants through adult population and their care providers utilizing the facility, specific to the department they practice in.

Qualifications:

Work requires a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care, and the management of patients and personnel

Work requires the ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, a working knowledge of hospital operations, and skills in planning nursing care for a group of patients and organizing the assignment of personnel to accomplish goals of care. This is normally acquired with two years experience at HCMH or its equivalent

Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and a BSN degree is preferred

Working Hours :

10a-10p Three, 12 hour shifts/week(Monday-Friday)

No weekends/No holidays
