The Group Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance to new and existing regulatory requirements of the Group including but not limited to:

Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC)

Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)

Local Government Unit (LGU)

He/She will work closely with the Finance team to maintain accurate records, review tax returns, and provide guidance on tax matters.

Job Specifications

Review and ensure timely filing/payment of all corporate monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns and supporting schedules and alphalists/reliefs which includes, among others, Value-added tax, Withholding tax, Income tax, Capital Gains Tax, Documentary Stamp Tax, Excise tax and other returns that arise during the course of business;

Coordinate with various local government units/agencies in processing business permits, BIR registration, registration of books of accounts, authority to print receipts, tax clearances, accreditation and other requirements for new and existing companies of the Group;

Cater to different advice and request such as but not limited to process flow of securing licenses, permits, drafting of different correspondence, letters, etc.

Review the charges of the LGU to ensure validity of assessment and avoid double imposition of tax;

Responsible for processing the transfer and closure of business registration with LGU and BIR for the Group;

Ensure Group’s compliance to BIR’s tax mapping requirements;

Establish, implement and monitor tax processes, policies and procedures to ensure tax compliance;

Review contracts, letters, agreements and other documents of the Group to identify tax issues, concerns and recommend options to mitigate risks and to achieve tax efficiency/savings;

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and accounting, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions and transactions;

Review and reconcile year-end tax returns and business permit amounts vis-à-vis the audited financial statements. Prepares reports and recommendations on how to address the noted discrepancies for BIR and LGU purposes;

Analyze financial data to assess the impact of tax planning strategies and provide recommendations for minimizing tax liabilities;

Periodic review and update existing compliance policies and procedures;

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, communicating implications to relevant stakeholders within the Company;

Help create a culture of compliance that is collaborative and sensitive to business needs

Others:

Assist the Group in reviewing the financial statements of various group of companies, including the possible tax implications of the disclosures in the notes to financial statements

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and continuing professional education;

File important documents and ensures fast retrieval when needed;

Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential;

Perform others tasks as assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualifications:

1. Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy; must be a CPA

2. Experience in handling group of companies from a local/family corporation, preferably from a holdings, construction or real estate companies

3. With at least 5 years of experience in compliance/ regulations from the Tax Division of Big Auditing Firms

4. Knowledgeable in accounting, taxation and audit functions, systems and best practices

5. Excellent written, verbal communication and well versed with new rulings and regulations

6. Familiarity in Data Privacy Act of the Philippines

7. Keen to details and have a strong analytical skill

8. Excellent time management and organization skills

9. Team player and with positive attitude

10. Ability to recognize and maintain highly confidential matter

11. Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload

12. Proficiency in Windows, including MS Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint

13. Must have a high level of professionalism and integrity
