Qualifications and Educations Requirements
BS Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology or Chemical Engineering
Knowledge in Product Development Process, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
At least 5 years experience in Research or Product formulation and development.
Required Skills/Competencies
Must have knowledge in food chemistry, product formulation and development, or R&D experience from concept to commercialization.
Must have knowledge and experience in statistical analysis as used in designing experiments and measurement of process capabilities.
Familiarity and experience with the sensory evaluation test, physio-chemical and microbial analysis and regulatory standards.
Excellent attention to details
Good verbal and written communications skills. Able to effectively work and communication with co-employees.
Research, analysis, mathematic and measurement skills.
Experience working with laboratory equipment
Good presentation a nd report-making skills.
Computer proficient (MS Applications).
Roles and responsibilities
Works closely with the New Product Development Team (Sales and Marketing, Production, QA, Management) to initiate, evaluate, develop and launch new innovative products/product extensions (with consideration of Food Safety and Quality Standards for high level outputs).
Works closely with the Manufacturing Team to evaluate, develop, verify process, raw & packaging materials and recommends and/or executes improvements with the objective of increasing efficiencies and reducing costs.
Reviews changes in industry regulations and makes formal recommendations to appropriate teams regarding product revisions or development.
Develop materials, finished product and process specifications.
Studies and recommends new equipment, processes, production methods, facilities and equipment upgrade, and streamlining of operations to continuously meet the required service levels of LFC - MRD.
Coordinates with counterparts from the plant site units relative to food quality and safety improvement programs.
initiate alternative materials, ingredients, equipment and production process improvement.
Reviews, analyzes and continuously improves research & development programs, quality management systems programs and departmental operating procedures.
Ensures the complete and updated department documents and certifications
