The role

As a Rail Safety Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a Rail Safety Trainer, you'll be instrumental in managing, developing, delivering, and verifying our Training and Competence assessment program to meet our business needs. You'll deliver exceptional training, showcase your expertise, and help evolve our training programs.

Day-to-day, you’ll Deliver Track Safety, Permanent Way, On Track Plant, and other rail safety training and assessment, adhering to Northern Ireland Railways and Translink standards.

Assist in meeting Babcock Rail Skills Academy requirements in Northern Ireland.

Develop cost-effective training solutions in compliance with industry standards and legislation.

Respond to feedback to improve our products and services.

Cultivate partnerships with clients, suppliers, and educational institutions.

Contribute to developing innovative training solutions to meet evolving business needs.

The successful candidate will be expected to work a flexible schedule, including 1 weekend shift a month, as required. This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based at Milewater Road in Belfast.

Essential Experience for the Rail Safety Trainer:

Background in regulated engineering, preferably in rail or construction

Strong mentoring and training experience especially in safety or a desire to train and develop

Qualifications for the Rail Safety Trainer:

Rail industry training qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 7331 Certificate or Level 3/4 in Adult Training) or willing to obtain.

Rail industry assessor qualification (e.g., A1/A2 or Level 3 Assesment in the Workplace) or willing to obtain
