Description:

Review environmental due diligence, including Phase I s and Phase II s, to identify cases of non-compliance with ASTM 1527-05 and CERCLA regulations and non-conformance with company policy and ASTM standards for proposed facilities. Ensure compliance with the innocent landowner defense under CERCLA regulations.

Identify and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials (e.g.: contaminated groundwater, soil, asbestos, lead, and mold) in compliance with waste regulations (i.e.: RCRA) and worker health and safety.

Daily responsibility for scheduling, coordinating, and completing projects related to #1 and #2 under time/deadline pressure.

Detailed Duties:

Review environmental due diligence to identify non-compliance with ASTM and CERCLA regulations and company policy.

Maintain the environmental database and document due diligence results.

Ensure compliance with innocent landowners defense and wetland regulations.

Coordinate with Environmental Counsel for permits and compliance activities.

Assist in materials and health/safety plans review and implementation.

Ensure compliance with OSHA s Lead and Asbestos standards.

Coordinate Phase II reports and liability reduction actions.

Maintain communication with counsel, regions, and government.

Conduct environmental training sessions for Real Estate teams.

Ensure due diligence documentation is posted to Verizon database.

Track environmental due diligence statistics and EES processes.

Assist HQ and Operations in environmental, health, and safety conference calls.

Qualifications:

Environmental Science Degree REQUIRED.

Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in Environmental Project Management REQUIRED.

Project Management Professional Certification desired.

Proven ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels.

Proven ability to negotiate and motivate others.

Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivation, leadership, and team orientation.

Analytic, technical, and organizational skills demonstrated.
