Salary:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to perform various clinical and office duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. Our practice is focus on wellness and you must be able to work directly with our team of medical providers to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations.

Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

Report to clinical director or practice administrator

Perform nursing procedures under supervision of medical provider

Assist medical provider in exam rooms

Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart

Give instructions to patients as instructed by medical provider.

Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment.

Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required

Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/medical provider/pharmacy calls.

Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to medical providers.

Scheduling appointments as needed.

Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)

All other duties as assigned by clinical director or practice administration

Medical assistants must have knowledge of:

Healthcare field and medical specialty

Medical terminology

Grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Knowledge of EHRs (if applicable)

Skills

5+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice or health care facility

Bilingual preferred

High level of professionalism

Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow

The ability to administer injections

Education

High school diploma; some college preferred

Medical assistant certification (if applicable)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Weekends as needed

Work setting:

In-person
