Spokane Produce, Inc. is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to add to our team!
The qualified individual will work full-time with a variable schedule of Sun - Thu 7am to 3:30pm. This schedule could change once established and familiar with the facility.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for routine preventative and reactive maintenance for industrial equipment used in packaging and processing fresh foods. Equipment includes but is not limited to automated mechanical systems, conveyors, pumps, motors, material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform routine mechanical maintenance to industrial processing equipment including bearing replacements, chain and belt drive repair, pneumatic systems, kitchen equipment.
Implement necessary inspections and repairs as part of the preventative maintenance and equipment manufacturer recommendations.
Trouble shoot electrical system components including motor starters, switches, photo-eyes, fuses and relays.
Identify conditions requiring major repair and recommend corrective action to the Maintenance Manager.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Keep accurate testing and maintenance records of all equipment.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with processing, kitchen and warehouse departments.
Perform regular building maintenance and repair; doors, lighting, plumbing, and snow removal.
Perform duties using a variety of equipment including hand tools, scissor lift, forklifts, hydraulic press, power drills, grinders, saws and pressure washer.
Welding experience a plus but is not required for this position.
Exercise lock-out / tag-out safety procedures when working around mechanical, electrical, or fluid energy sources.
All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years' experience in maintenance and equipment repair
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Must have electrical diagnostic experience
Must be able to climb ladders
Effective communication, record keeping and math skills
Must be able to frequently lift, move, push, pull heavy objects or materials
Analytical problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
Work independently with minimal supervision
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Requires some physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials, up to 50 pounds occasionally. Due to working outside on occasion, candidate will be tolerant of extreme weather conditions. Must have the ability to concentrate in a noisy environment.
The successful candidate must have reliable transportation, be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen, and continue to satisfy our drug testing policy, if offered employment.
