We are seeking a Controller to manage all accounting operations, financial reporting functions and ensure proper internal control policies and procedures are consistently in place to support effective financial and accounting operations:

• Report to the President and CEO

• Provide financial projections and accounting services; prepare growth plans

• Process and implement the infrastructure/systems needed to support substantial growth over the next five to 10 years

• Continue to build and manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems, including, information technology (IT), human resources (HR), and sustainability practices

• Involved in strategic planning, evaluation, provide financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts

• Help to develop organizational financial strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction

• Establish and execute finance operational strategies by evaluating organization’s revenue and expense trends; establishes critical measurements; implements member service strategies related to revenue; strengthens systems; implements change

• Prepare annual budget in consultation with senior management and external accounting firm

• Helps identify organization members and board members; analyzes organization operations; identifies opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement; identifies capital to fund and support program expansion

• Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, equipment, and staff requirements

• Identify monetary resources; developing action plans

• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results with senior management; Initiates corrective actions

• Accomplish human resource strategies by determining accountabilities

• Review job contributions

• Plan and review compensation strategies the impact of variances

• Report financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements

• Prepare monthly financial reports

• Assists with the production of the annual audit

• Accomplish finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

• Maintain accounts receivable, process and records

• Follows-up on collection and payment allocation; Carries out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines

• Administrate and process payroll

• Prepare bank deposits; Reconciles bank accounts

• Monitor account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities

• Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc.

• Investigate and resolve member and sponsor queries

• Process adjustments

• Organize a recovery system and initiate collection efforts

• Communicate with corporate staff and vendors via phone, email, mail or personally

Required Skills and Experience

• Four years accounts receivable and general accounting experience

• Track record of executing financial plans and strategy, managing profitability, quality management, process improvement, forecasting, and developing budgets

• Knowledge of accounts receivable, office administration and procedures, and general bookkeeping procedures

• Proficient in relevant computer applications

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

• Information management

• Ability to problem-solve from routine to complex issues including sound conflict management and decision-making skills

• Negotiation skills
