MBA CSi, in support of our client's Engineering organization, is seeking a Sr. System Engineer / Analyst with 6+ years of experience to join our client's Sortation Systems Technology (SST) Team. The SST team has different programs with a variety of equipment and operating systems. The primary role of this position will be to engage with an experienced, cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design equipment. The position requires a hands-on role designing, engineering and exploring prototype and test solutions for supporting new innovations that support mail image processing. In this position, there is a need to continually find new and better ways to solve complex problems within constrained environments. In this role, there is a need to define approaches and solutions that will be developed by the entire team. A successful candidate must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open, collaborative, and peer environment. The role requires occasional travel to support testing/deployment/installation of software and hardware at various customer mail processing centers or vendor facilities within the United States.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of experienced System Engineering
Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in system design, image processing equipment design, industrial production, or other mechatronics industry as a system engineer
Knowledge of Microsoft Operating System, Oracle/SQL DB, Linux/RedHat OS, Open SUSE
Configure Systems from scratch
1+ years of experience working with image processing/automation tools
Knowledge in Hardware and software architecture/system interfaces on automation equipment
Knowledge of Domain Controller/Active Directory
VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM for Open SUSE VMs
Be able to install/troubleshoot various OS
2+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments
Knowledge of command line interface for Windows, Open SUSE, RedHat, and Ubuntu
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in 24x7 production environments
Image processing controls engineering experience
Proficiency with machine and process reliability, integration of human and automated processes, experimental design, statistical analysis
Knowledge of analog, digital design, and digital signal processing techniques
Knowledge of specifications for standard electronic interfaces and protocols
Knowledge of BASH/PowerShell/Python/Ruby or any other scripting languages
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment methodologies
Ability to perform deep, technical troubleshooting
Strong documentation skills
Strong knowledge of networking technologies
Have proven experience to develop and test systems/applications working with equipment suppliers, laboratories and manufacturing plants
Ability to understand Operational processes and hands-on experience
Show good judgement making technical trade-offs between your groups short term and long term business needs, and the needs of the company as a whole
Able to communicate project status, drive and elevate decision making and help requests
Conduct multiple weekly/bi-weekly/monthly standing meetings with internal teams and vendors to plan and track deliverables
Support development of technical specifications with engineered solutions
Hands-on experience with equipment design, machine design, system development and product integration
Working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and software for technical document writing such as Visio, Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint
Fluency in English required
Education and Experience:Associates (Bachelor's preferred) degree in area of specialty
Minimum of 6 years of experience required
